As an effort to promote Handball, Clement Chong, one of our Handball athlete for the YOG was also invited to share his experiences as a participant in the YOG, the training he went through and the sacrifices and effort he put in to become part of the newly formed Handball team representing Singapore in the YOG.

YOG & Beyond
Jointly organised by Dr Zoe Boon, Principal of Anglican High School and Mdm Diane Goh, Principal of Park View Primary School; Ms Mary Ang, President of Handball Federation of Singapore was invited to the East Zone Centre of Excellence Sports Fest 2010 - YOG & Beyond. The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr Oon Jin Teik, Chief Executive Officer of Singapore Sports Council.

First YOG Handball Champs!
As the flame extinguishes, this mark the end of the first YOG. The results for 5th and 6th placing and semi-finals for both boys and girls team:

Angola 37 - 12 Australia (5th & 6th, 1st leg)
Russia 41 - 19 Kazakhstan (semi-final)
Brazil 25 - 30 Denmark (semi-final)
Boy's match
Cook Islands 20 - 27 Singapore (5th & 6th, 1st leg)

Singapore 32 - 18 Cook Islands (5th & 6th, 2nd leg)

With the above results, teams that are fighting for the bronze are Kazakhstan v Brazil for the girls and France v Brazil for the boys!
While Russia v Denmark for the girl's team will be fighting for the first YOG Handball gold title, Egypt v Korea for the boy's team.
