SIN v EGY 5-70

Clad in their red armours, finally it’s our very own Handball Boy’s Team turn to play. With the roaring cheers from the sea of spectators, the boys work hard for each goal they lost to their opponent. For every goals they attempted, it was a chance for them to catch up with the Egyptian team, the spectators’ encouragement let the boy’s feel that they were by them even when the ball missed the goal. On the other side, our goalkeeper helped to defend the Egyptian’s attack when they broke through the Singapore’s defense line. Trying their very best to block all the balls thrown towards them, one even got injured as the ball hit directly on to him.

The final result: Singapore v Egypt, 7-50.

When interviewed with the Captain’s father, Mr Sethi, he said that the results does not reflect anything about their techniques or skills because of the obvious size disadvantage. The Egyptians were much taller than the boys. He add on by saying that they put up a good fight until the very last minute, no one in the team gave up even with such a big gap in the goals attained. He feels no disappointment with the boys because of the result, as he find that this is a learning process for the boys.

Rough sea makes a strong sailor. Keep it up boys and good luck for the next match!
