Ms Mary Ang, President of Handball Federation of Singapore, and Ms Choe Yiying, Head of Referees, attended a Beach Handball Referees Continental Course in Pattaya, Thailand from 20th-25th October 2010. This course is organized by Handball Association of Thailand, and supported by the International Handball Federation (IHF) and Asian Handball Federation (AHF). Referee pairs and delegates came from Qatar, Iran, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Bahrain and Singapore.
In conjunction with this course, the 1st Beach Handball Thailand Open Asian Championships was also held at the lovely Jomtien Beach of Pattaya City. Through this competition, the referees had their practical assessment in refereeing an International Beach Games. IHF Instructor, Mr Panos Antoniou, who had 16 years of beach handball experience, was an engaging instructor. He constantly provided the referees with his valuable knowledge and advice.
