NUS Inter-Faculty Games

This year's IFG saw the participation of various kinds of sportsman; foreigners, casual, enthusiasts, burly, agile to name a few. The competition kicked off with the 9 participating faculties split into 2 groups based on previous year’s seeding. The scores were tight as the competition heated up, with the Arts faculty beating the School of Design and Environment with asmall margin of one extra goal over the others to enter the semis. Business Faculty managed to pull ahead of the competition in Group A with their mixture of foreigners who seemed to rule the court, but Engineering Faculty somehow managed to secure a goal over them in the preliminaries. Credit would probably go to the burly players who seemed to form an impenetrable wall.

As the teams moved into the finals, the competition intensified as the teams were gunning for the Gold, Silver and Bronze. Engineering faculty suffered due to their players being injured and in the end, were defeated by the strong Business faculty team, who took the lead from the start and held on to it to the end to clinch the Gold medal. Though at a disadvantage, Engineering faculty did not give up and gave their best against Business faculty until the final whistle, reducing the goal difference to a mere 4 goals (24:28 to Business). The fight between Medicine faculty and Arts faculty was also a game filled with excitement and nail-biting moments, resulting in a draw where both teams were awarded the Bronze medal.
