PESTA: Handball for Teachers

PESTA will be having a 2 day course on Handball this October!

Teaching of Handball in PE

Date: 10th & 11th October 2012

Time: 0900 - 1700 hours

Venue: PESTA or School Venue

Target Group: PE Teachers with little or no experience teaching Handball

 

Objective

At the end of the course, participant will acquire the knowledge and skills to teach handball skills and concepts in PE, design engaging lessons and learn to use formative assessment to evaluate student learning.

Content

• Learn to teach skills and concepts in handball
• Learn to plan lessons that are engaging with developmentally appropriate activities
• Acquire the knowledge of using formative assessment to evaluate students' learning
• Learn strategies to overcome real classroom issues while teaching handball in PE (eg: wet weather, students who are not interested, different abilities, space constraints, equipment, participation rate, etc.)
