Woodlands Secondary School Handball Clinic

Woodlands Secondary School took up the offer for a free 3-hours
handball clinic in preparation for the C Division Handball Championship 2011, in return to take part. They were also given 5 size 2 balls for participation.

The team is made up of Secondary 2 players from other CCA, namely ; Sepak Takraw and Soccer and first time has hands on to the game of Handball. During the clinic, pupils were thought on the rules of the game and its concept. Most important for beginners, ball passing and catching drills were emphasized. Drills such as high pass, bounce pass, intercept play, individual defence drills were demostrated and taught.

Goalkeepers were taught to save shots from difference angles and types of shots whether is from 6m or 9m. The team later played 4-on-4 as the hall is rather small to play full court. The team used size 5 volleyball for the training.
